On June 14, 2017, in the conference room of the building of the International Banking and Finance Center at: Tashkent, Beshyogoch Str., 1, IFC (International Finance Corporation) has held a training seminar organized by the Uzbekistan Lessors’ Association on the topic: «Features of implementation of energy-efficient projects: the State, the Financial Sector, and the Technology.»
Representatives of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan, experts and specialists of the International Finance Corporation, as well as representatives of equipment suppliers, leasing companies and banks participated at the seminar.
The presentations was made by the experts and specialists of the Ministry of Economy, IFC, and representatives of equipment suppliers.
Mr. Z. B. Mustafaev, Chairman of Uzbekistan Lessors’ Association and Mr. Z. R. Khashimov, Head of the IFC office in the Republic of Uzbekistan delivered opening speeches.
Mr. L.Evdokimov, representative of the Ministry of Economy, in his report «Energy Efficiency in Uzbekistan: review and recent trends in legislation» noted that the legislative framework for the implementation of energy-efficientprojects was established several years ago, however, due to the latest changes in legal acts, adopted by the President and the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan, favorable conditions for more active implementation of energy-efficient projects are created in Uzbekistan. Leonid Alexandrovich told about the plans to create joint ventures for the production of energy-efficient equipment, he touched on the topic of alternative energy sources, and also noted the importance of state support in this area.
Ms. S.Tashpulatova, Coordinator of the IFC Program in Central Asia, made her presentation on the topic: «Potential for resource saving: case study of companies in Uzbekistan.» In her report, Sajida Tashpulatova touched on the inefficient use of such resources like industrial wastes, she provided examples of making profit by the company based on the correct processing and marketing of wastes, and besides, she told about the possible assistance by IFC to local companies in establishing a resource-saving system.
Ms. E.Shonya and Ms. O.Maksimenko, coordinators of the IFC Financial Institutions Department, has delivered their presentations: «IFC Program on financing of energy-efficient projects in the EMENA Market» and «Lending to energy efficient projects,» respectively.
Elena told and provided examples of effective interaction between the financial institutions and businesses. Olga Maksimenko touched directly on the terms of lending to energy efficient projects.
Mr. v. Zhuze, coordinator of the same department, made a presentation on the topic: «Packages of energy-efficientsolutions for typical companies in Uzbekistan.» Vladimir Zhuze showed practical examples of how companies can create conditions for the introduction of energy-efficient production facilities.
