For the purpose of facilitating the performance of tasks set forth by the Presidential Decree No. UP-4947 dated February 7, 2017 «On the Strategy of Actions for Further Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan», on June 29, 2017, on the initiative of the Banking and Finance Academy, the II Investment Forum was held on the theme: «Investment Support for the Uzbekistan Enterprises’ Innovative Development Programs: Current State and Ways of Development».

The representatives of: the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the State Committee for Investments of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the State Tax Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Uzbekistan Lessors’ Association and commercial banks, as well as foreign experts, professors and scientists of Banking and Finance Academy participated in the Forum.

The Forum discussed topical issues related to promotion of investment activity, prospects of investment potential of commercial banks, implementation of prospective investment projects, as well as further improvement of the lending mechanisms for small businesses and private entrepreneurs.
Z. Mustafaev, General Director of the Uzbekistan Lessors’ Association, noted in his speech the role and advantages of leasing companies in technical support and upgrading of enterprises in the Republic. It was also noted that the Strategy of Actions on five priority areas for the years 2017-2021, developed at the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, is an important guide for the activity aimed at creation of beneficial conditions for the comprehensive and dynamic development of the state and society, and further liberalization of all spheres of life.

Within the framework of the Forum, a round table was organized on the topic: «Actual issues of introducing modern methods of corporate governance in Joint-Stock Companies,» which discussed the ways and methods of corporate governance and the impact of corporate governance on the investment attractiveness of commercial banks.
