Discussing the issues of leasing is important due to the current situation in the economy of Uzbekistan. Today, leasing is one of the effective ways of investing in equipment and modernization of production, promoting the development of small business and private entrepreneurship, as well as creating the competitive production on their basis. Thanks to the reforms, focused on the development of the real economy and support for small and medium-sized businesses, the leasing services in Uzbekistan have broad prospects for further development.
The sector’s development indicators are notable too. In particular, in 2015, 90 organizations, including 24 banks provided leasing services in Uzbekistan. The total portfolio of leasing operations for the last year amounted to UZS 2.45 trillion. This figure increased by 14.4% compared to 2014 year. In 2015, the leasing companies of the country have concluded more than 5,600new lease transactions, which amounted to over UZS 850 billion. Among the objects provided for leasing, the agricultural equipment leads, taking 32.9% share in the total structure of leasing transactions in 2015. However, asignificant part of transactions isrelated to the provision for lease of technological equipment — 30.6%, transport — 19.8%, and real estate — 16.7%.
In the Forum, the reports and presentations will be made by domestic market experts and representatives of various foreign companies and organizations, including from Saudi Arabia, the Sultanate of Oman, the UK, Germany, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Romania, Turkey, Russia, Belarus and others.
What are the future business needs in the leasing services, how the leasing sector is developing at the global level and in individual countries, what are the factors ensuring the growth of leasing portfolio, the foreign experience in the leasing business management during the crisis and anti-crisis measures and actions in the industry, the state and prospects for cooperation of leasing and insurance — these are just some of the questions that the Forum participants will discuss in plenary and breakout sessions.
During the Forum, business meetings and negotiations will be held, providingthe leasing sector representatives with an opportunity to further expand cooperation.
In addition, the event will include the ceremony of awarding with honorary award in the field of leasing “Oltin Portfel.”
It is expected that the forum will provide an effective interactive platform for both domestic and foreign participants to establish and maintain their mutually beneficial business contacts and exchange of experience.
