Joint training of the Uzbekistan Lessors’ Association and the Uzbekistan Association of Arbitration Courts was held

 

On November 15, 2016, a joint training of the Uzbekistan Lessors’ Association and the Uzbekistan Association of Arbitration Courts was held in the building of International Banking and Financial Center located at: Beshyogoch Str., 1, in the meeting-room on the 4th floor, Tashkent, the Republic of Uzbekistan. The topic of the training was: “Effectiveness of arbitration proceedings in settling disputes regarding lease agreements. Problems and issues related to the execution of arbitral awards.”

The training was aimed at improving the leasing activity, in particular, at improving the cooperation of leasing companies with the Uzbekistan Association of Arbitration Courts in addressing issues arising from the non-payment of lease payments due under the contract, as well as at increasing the role and effectiveness of arbitration courts in the modern context.

General Director of the “Uzbekistan Lessors’ Association” Mustafaev Z.B. delivered a welcoming speech at the training. Furthermore, the following speakers appeared with presentations: Abzalov E.M., Judge of the Tashkent branch of the Uzbekistan Association of Arbitration Courts, on the topic: “Legal bases for activities of the arbitration courts in Uzbekistan”; Talipov K.Y., Judge of the Tashkent branch of the Uzbekistan Association of Arbitration Courts: “Requirements for transfer to the arbitration courts of disputes arising from leasing agreements concluded between the parties (Agreement to submit the dispute to an arbitral court, introduction of the arbitration clause to the lease agreements). Procedure for transfer of the arbitral award for the enforcement”; Akhmadjonov A.A., Managing Partner, Kosta Legal Law Firm: “Enforcement and cancellation of arbitration awards.”
Upon completion of the training, representatives of the Arbitration Court came up with a proposal to lessors to establish contacts and maintain cooperation.
