On July 30, 2024, the meeting of the Leasing Association of Uzbekistan was held, dedicated to the results of the 1st half of 2024 via video link. During the meeting, the results of the reporting period were summarized and further tasks and priorities for the development of the leasing market in our country were identified.
According to the results of the 1st half of 2024, there are about 155 players in the leasing services market of the republic, of which about 36 lessors were actively engaged in leasing activities. The total portfolio of leasing operations for the reporting period amounted to more than 7.4 trillion UZS. During the reporting period, the lessors concluded more than 7,500 new leasing transactions, their volume amounted to 2 trillion UZS, which is 13.6% more compared to the same period in 2023.
Agricultural machinery, according to the results of the year, is the leader among the objects leased, the share of which in the total structure of leasing transactions amounted to 66.3%. In second place is motor transport, which accounted for 17.1%, and the share of technological equipment – 8.0%. In turn, the leasing rates of construction machinery and equipment decreased and amounted to 6.8%. The volume of transactions related to leasing of real estate amounted to 1.9%.
During the period under review, the market leaders among the lessors were the «O’zagrolizing» JSC (980.3 billion UZS), FC «Mikro Leasing» LLC (312.2 billion UZS), the «Uzbek Leasing International A.O.» JSC (197.9 billion UZS), Fincom Leasing Group (187.1 billion UZS) and the “Autosanoat Agro Lizing” LLC (121.6 billion UZS).
In new leasing transactions carried out during the 1st half of 2024, Tashkent city occupies the largest share among the regions — 15.6%, the Republic of Karakalpakstan and the Ferghana region are in second and third places — 8.7% and 8.6%, respectively.
In his presentation, the Chairman of the Leasing Association of Uzbekistan, Zafar Mustafaev, noted the current problems of the leasing industry: the growth of non-repayment of leasing among customers, the delay in court cases and the seizure of leasing facilities, as well as the dishonesty of lessees. At the end of the presentation, proposals were announced that will help improve the leasing environment and enhance the image of the industry.
