8th Annual Leasing Industry Congress of Russia

 

The Leasing Industry Congress of Russia, held by the leading industry association, is the main event of the year and the meeting place for the heads of Russian leasing companies. In the Congress of 2018, 173 delegates from 122 organizations took participation. Participants included authorities responsible for leasing activities, friendly associations and other partners, namely the Bank of Russia, the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, the RA Expert, the leasing sub-committee of the Association of European Businesses (AEB), the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation , Association of Leasing Companies of Belarus, Association of Leasing Companies of Uzbekistan, SME Corporation, Moscow Small Business Lending Assistance Fund, Industrial Development Fund. The Congress is supported by the European Confederation of Leasing Associations (Leaseurope).

Within the framework of the congress, industry leaders discussed issues of state support and legislative regulation of the leasing industry, prospects for leasing infrastructure development, specifics of implementing the reform of the leasing market and current trends in the industry. As the result of the discussion, a resolution was prepared that touched upon the reform of the leasing industry, the introduction of new accounting rules for Federal Accounting Standards, the assignment of leasing companies to non-credit financial organizations (NFOs) and their transfer to the Unified Chart of Accounts (UCA) means, actualization of professional standards of the leasing industry, support to SMEs and other issues.

 

By the invitation of the United Leasing Association (ULA) of Russia, Mr. Mustafaev Z.B., the general director of JSC «Uzbek Leasing International AO», performed a business trip to St. Petersburg and Moscow (Russian Federation) on May 30-31, 2018, in order to participate in the 8th Annual Congress of the Leasing Industry of Russia, on the topic «Enhancing the role of leasing as a mechanism of investment for modernization and technological re-equipment of all sectors of the Russian economy, basic drivers and obstacles «, which took place on May 31, 2018 in St. Petersburg (Russia). The trip was also carried out to conduct business negotiations with representatives of major leasing companies of the Russian Federation, as well as representatives of Eximbank of Russia and JSC “Russian Agency for Insurance of Export Credits and Investments” (JSC “EXIAR”) in order to discuss the prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation between these insurance and financial institutes and the company «Uzbek Leasing International AO»

 

At the 8th Annual Congress of the Leasing Industry of Russia, among other topics, cross-border leasing and leasing of rolling-stock for railways, the volume of which in the Russian Federation amounted to more than 230 billion rubles only in 2017, was discussed. Following the discussions, an agreement was reached with representatives of major leasing companies of the Russian Federation, such as VTB Leasing, VEB Leasing, Sberbank Leasing, about the exchange of experience in carrying out these leasing operations. A meeting was also held with the leadership of the United Leasing Association (ULA) of Russia.

 

During the negotiations with representatives of Eximbank of Russia and JSC “Russian Agency for Insurance of Export Credits and Investments” (JSC “EXIAR”), the conditions for granting a loan in favor of “Uzbek Leasing International A.O.” from Eximbank were discussed to purchase construction equipment produced by the Russian Federation.

The tradition of holding annual Congresses was introduced in the ULA on the basis of international experience. It is very important for the heads of leasing companies to gather together and discuss the strategy for the development of the industry!
